Up to Main Index Up to Journal for July, 2020 JOURNAL FOR WEDNESDAY 29TH JULY, 2020 ______________________________________________________________________________ SUBJECT: Dev branch updated with fixes, save/load in-flight events pending DATE: Wed 29 Jul 19:41:26 BST 2020 WolfMUD Wednesday, and I’ve been very busy chap. I’ve just pushed an update to the public dev branch that fixes the respawn, in-flight events and duplication issues. The update also includes the new tree debugging scheme. The update does not include saving and loading of items with in-flight events yet — I’m work on it though. This means that if there is an item pending a reset in a player’s inventory when they quit that the item may never reset and is in effect lost. The server is still running all day and night, and it’s been very stable[1]. A lot of people have been asking for updated code, hence my reason for pushing out my changes before solving the saving and loading issue. If anyone has any kind of issue with the new code, please drop me an email with some details: diddymus@wolfmud.org If I don’t know about a problem I can’t fix it! :( Due to the quick about turn from releasing a hotfix to releasing all of the new body, wearing, wielding and holding code as well — it’s taken me some time to rebase all of the changes onto the current dev branch. It’s all done now, although I need to do some cleaning up locally and make sure I haven’t missed anything. I still have a lot of stashes hanging around with various changes, some of which are already applied and some are outstanding from the body features work. Before I forget, the lame “weapon shop” is now a “bladesmith workshop” and has a few simple, sample weapons for experimenting with the new body hold/wield system. Not too exciting as we still don’t have combat yet :( The changes to save and load in-flight events should be on the dev branch in a few days. After that I guess I should put together the v0.0.16 release :) -- Diddymus [1] Not wanting to tempt fate, quickly squints at server, yup still running… Up to Main Index Up to Journal for July, 2020
