Up to Main Index Up to Journal for July, 2012 JOURNAL FOR THURSDAY 5TH JULY, 2012 ______________________________________________________________________________ SUBJECT: Damn and blast! More ideas... DATE: Thu Jul 5 22:02:53 BST 2012 I'm just watching a talk given by Rob Pike at Google I/O 2012 on Go Concurrency Patterns: https://developers.google.com/events/io/sessions/gooio2012/322/ I now have a whole bunch of ideas for improving the WolfMUD prototype! Already I can make the client/player interaction even simpler than it is now. I can also see a better way of handling messaging and an idea for making the BRL[1] more Go like. One of the things I find is that I have a coding style that is very me-ish that I've developed after using about two dozen or more programming languages over roughly three decades. My Perl is not exactly Perl-ish, my PHP is not exactly PHP-ish and my Java was not very Java-ish. However, whatever the language, other people look at it and generally say something like 'this is nice code, simple and easy to read' - so I must be doing something right somewhere ;) -- Diddymus [1] Big Room Lock - See entry for Monday 18th June, 2012: ../6/18.html Up to Main Index Up to Journal for July, 2012
